Atlanta Benefit Press Kit
Thank you for your interest in writing about or helping publicize the upcoming Atlanta benefit cabaret Our WICKED, WICKED Ways.
As far as we can determine, this will
be the largest Broadway benefit ever held in Georgia. We plan to use traditional media of all types as well as online marketing campaigns to raise $20,000 to
$25,000 for families and individuals affected by HIV and AIDS.
Please note that this is a "true" benefit - all proceeds go directly to the 501(c)3 non-profit beneficiaries. While there are some cost-of-goods types of expenses, there are no
"producer" fees, etc.

Two-thirds of the funds raised from the cabaret will benefit Atlanta's
Joining Hearts while
one-third will benefit
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA).

Story Ideas
- The WICKED cast will auction off several once-in-a-lifetime items, including a walk-on part in WICKED at the Fox Theatre.
- This is the third Atlanta Broadway benefit hosted by theBestArts.com. (In 2010, MARY POPPINS performed for Jerusalem House and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA raised funds for Synchronicity Theatre.)
- 2011 is the 25th anniversary of beneficiary JOINING HEARTS, one of the original HIV/AIDS non-profits in Atlanta
- Beneficiary Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS uses half of the money they raise to help actors with serious illnesses, and donates the other half to community organizations across America
- Benefit performer Mark Jacoby has appeared in 8 Broadway productions, usually in starring roles. He received a Best Actor in a Musical Tony nomination for Show Boat.
- In this era of cost-cutting, major arts organizations sometimes perform to taped music. Our benefit will include eight live musicians.

Our last Broadway benefit, with cast members from PHANTOM OF THE OPERA for Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre,
received tremendous coverage in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (about 64 column
inches, including two color photographs and one black and white photo.)
