CMU 2011 Showcase Cabaret at Broadway Sessions - Mar 10, 2011

On Thursday, March 10, 2011, theBestArts and BROADWAY SESSIONS held a "CMU Showcase Cabaret" featuring performances by alumni and students of Carnegie Mellon University's musical theatre program. Alumni and students celebrated and introduced the talents of the CMU musical theatre class of 2011. Most of the eleven seniors from the musical theatre program plus two seniors from the drama program performed.

Headliner CMU alumni for the event were:

Several of the songs performed were written by CMU alumni, including Will Reynolds (The Greenwood Tree) and the songwriting team of Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond (Golden Gate).

Members of the CMU class of 2011 are Gabrielle McClinton, Darren Bluestone, Kaleigh Cronin, Patrick Dillon Curry, Mimi Gianopulos, Lee Harrington, Nick Marcucci, Ryan Melia, Donovan Mitchell, Tess Primack, Sergi Robles, Kyle Rotter and Kailie Torres. Featured CMU alums expected to perform include Daisy Hobbs, Jon-Michael Reese and Lora Lee Gayer.

Thanks to Ben Cameron and Broadway Sessions for hosting the event, Will Van Dyke for his expert music direction and Gabby McClinton for coordinating CMU student performances.

Event Details

The cabaret was held at the Midtown Theatre on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 163 W. 46th St., New York, NY inside the HA! Comedy Club. Cover was free.

A collection was made for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS; they provide support for critical health issues (including HIV/AIDS) to individuals in the entertainment industry and to over 400 community organizations across the country. BC/EFA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit.
