Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin 2013
Germany's National Singing Competition
The Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin is Germany's national singing competition.
It was founded to identify and promote young talent with exceptional vocal, music and theatre skills.
The main competition is open to singers from age 23 to 28, while the junior competition is for singers
from age 17 to 22.
Pre-selections are held in seven regions of the country. Semi-finalists advance to the finals in Berlin, where winners are chosen to perform
in concert at the famed Friedrichstadt-Palast theatre. Juniors compete for three main prizes of € 2,000 to € 4,200 as well as two additional major awards.
Seniors compete for three musical awards and three singing awards, ranging from € 3,000 to € 5,000. Seven other major singing awards are available as well
as one piano accompanist award.

The 2013 Winners Concert was held on December 2, 2013 at the Friedrichstadt-Palast theatre in Berlin.
