CRUSH: A Valentine to the 90s
Cabaret benefit featuring cast members of The Book of Mormon
Broadway Sings in Atlanta IV
Monday, February 3, 2014
Event cancelled
Due to terrible weather in Atlanta, THE BOOK OF MORMON had to cancel two of their shows at the Fox Theatre. Understandably, they needed
to hold a make-up show on February 3 for their ticket holders. As a result, we are unable to go forward with our event.
Thank you so much to all of THE BOOK OF MORMON company members and OPEN HAND supporters who worked so hard to prepare for this event. Benefit ticket holders
will be contacted directly by OPEN HAND.
Donations
If you'd like to support our beneficiaries, you can make a fully tax deductable
donation here.
Open Hand
Open Hand, an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit organization, will be the Atlanta beneficiary of the event. Open Hand began in 1988, when a group of neighbors started cooking meals
for 14 friends with HIV/AIDS. While Open Hand has expanded their mission to serving the elderly and those suffering from many diseases, their largest client population
remains people affected by HIV/AIDS.
BC/EFA will grant back 50% of the net funds raised to Open Hand.
For 25 years, Open Hand has worked to meet the daily nutrition needs of thousands of low-income men, women and children who are dealing with a
critical, chronic, or terminal disease; and homebound seniors. They help Atlanta-area residents prevent or better manage chronic disease by providing
4,500+ home-delivered meals/day along with nutrition education as a means to improve the quality of life for those facing difficult challenges.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
BC/EFA is a primary beneficiary of the event.
BC/EFA is one of the nation’s leading industry-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations.
By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of the American theatre community,
BC/EFA has raised over $250 million since 1988 for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses across the United States.
BC/EFA is the major supporter of seven programs at The Actors Fund, including The HIV/AIDS Initiative,
The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic, The Actors Fund Work Program,
The Dancers’ Resource, The Stage Managers’ Project and three supportive housing residences.
Over half of BC/EFA's annual grants are directed to more than 400 AIDS and family service organizations nationwide each year.
