Morgan James
Idaho native Morgan moved to New York City to attend the Juilliard School. Deciding she didn't want to be an opera singer,
she made her Broadway debut in 2008 in The Addams Family. Other Broadway credits include
Wonderland, Godspell and Motown the Musical.
After meeting Morgan, Motown founder Berry Gordy Gordy introduced her to Doug Morris and L.A. Reid,
opening the door for a deal with Epic Records in 2012. Her first album, "Morgan James Live - a Celebration of Nina Simone,"
was recorded at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in New York and released on December 4, 2012.
Morgan's first studio album was released on June 3, 2014. She co-wrote eight of the eleven songs on
"Morgan James Hunter."
