Kennedy Center - 2009 Broadway Today and Tomorrow Series

Stephen Schwartz

The Millenium Stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. hosts free concerts every night at 6pm ET, sponsored by Target and Fannie Mae. In most cases, tickets are not required. All performances are broadcast live on the web and archived for later viewing.

Broadway Today & Tomorrow

As part of the Millenium Stage 12th Anniversary, the Kennedy Center hosted a special series of Broadway Today & Tomorrow events from January 31 to February 7, 2009. Each night featured Broadway composers talking about their work and performing their songs with the help of some of Broadway's best singers. The opening concert featured "Today's" best composers, while each subsequent evening featured one of "Tomorrow's" rising stars. This is part of the Kennedy Center's season-long initiative "Broadway: The Third Generation", which celebrates current and rising Broadway composers.
