an energizing evening of performances to excite your soul!
Held at the
Rich Theatre in the Woodruff Arts Center at 1280 Peachtree Street in Atlanta,
the event featured cast and crew members of the traveling company performing some of their favorite songs of the 60s.
Some of the most talented singers and dancers in America perform songs made famous by:
- Aretha Franklin
- The Supremes
- The Temptations
- Blood Sweat and Tears
- The Righteous Brothers
- The Shirelles
- Bobby Darin
- Nancy Sinatra

and
BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS (BC/EFA).
The evening wass an opportunity for company members to step out of their roles in Disney's The Lion King to perform the songs they grew up with.
It featured performances by 29 singers and dancers from the show accompanied by a live band.
In addition, there was be a silent auction of items including The Lion King memorabilia used in actual performances,
a live auction of several opportunities to join the company backstage at The Fox Theatre, and more.
The Lion Sings Tonight is part of an ongoing series of performances by the touring company across America. The show will be directed
by Jelani Remy (Simba), with music direction by Jo Lynn Burks.
It wass produced by Kevin Ireland, founder and editor of theBestArts.com,
Jeremiah Lawson, Director of Events for Joining Hearts, and Ben Lipitz
from Disney's The Lion King.
